Also is there a way to add a column with file passwords and password protect each file? Again any help you can provide is supremely appreciated! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.

Re: Using Pdftk to merge various files if you want to merge few 8 files, why do you need macro, just use the command line and merge them Maybe I don't get the idea. Also about the passwords - are these passwords for the pdf files you create with the previous macro, the source xls files or something else?

Last edited by buran; at AM. Re: Using Pdftk to merge various files simple answer for both questions is yes. Of course one should think about the design of the sheet where the file names for the people in each group will be. For example, if I understand correctly there will be one file for several people and it will be password protected.

working with open source xPDF library

So it make sense to have the file name, [eventually] password for this file and list of the files to include. Also one should consider is it better to create list of input files in each group or for example specify the target output file for each input file in a listetc. In other words - it turns to be rather large project more or less and right now, I'm not sure I'm able to get involved with it.

So merging the files specified in col A is separate from password protecting, I would be using them at different times so it's not a combined request. So if either one of the merging or the password protecting is easier, can you help with just one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.
